Summary
Exposure limits are upper limits on the acceptable concentration of a chemical substance or class of substances in workplace air. WorkSafeBC has a committee dedicated to ensuring exposure limits in B.C.’s workplaces adhere to best practices and are updated in alignment with advances in the underlying science.
A key source of this information is the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). WorkSafeBC’s committee has reviewed recent changes published by ACGIH and has proposed changes to the exposure limits for 22 substances found in B.C. workplaces.
